Presidential Biographies Reading Project

Some readers undertake ambitious reading “challenges” (aka dares) suggested by others, and some of us dream up our own ambitious reading projects. Most often, that takes the form of reading a classic novel (often one of daunting length) or – either at a single streak or intermittently – reading “everything Author X ever wrote.”

In the fall of 2009, Chicago-based reader Janet Potter took it upon herself to read a biography of every U.S. President – starting with Washington, and continuing to read (consecutively) biographies of each of Washington’s successors.  Potter’s description of the project so far was posted recently to The Millions. You can find Potter’s own ongoing blog about the project here.
