Save the Date? The 2012 National Book Festival

…takes place annually on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

The Los Angeles Times has details about some of the writers who will be featured this year.

Happily, like the local annual Decatur Book Festival over Labor Day weekend, the National Book Festival scheduled for September 22-23, is free and open to the public.

Unhappily, Washington DC isn’t exactly “local” for Atlanta booklovers.

Still, if you’re going to be in the DC area in September, or could plan to be there then, you might consider coordinating your plans to be able to take in the festival. And if you’re going to be in the New York City area the weekend of September 23-25, maybe you can pop in at the Brooklyn Book Festival?

There’s an official National Book Festival website, of course.
