Are Non-Digitized Books Being “Held Hostage”?

Held hostage from potential electronic book readers by their (print) publishers, we mean. Or rather, as the author of this Wired article implies.

As is often the case with blog postings, some of the comments posted by the readers of this article are as interesting as the article itself. Could we expect the same of the reactions of some readers of, say, Remembrance of Things Past? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. What do you think?
