“People seem to think there is something inherently noble and virtuous in the desire to go for a walk. Any one thus desirous feels that he has a right to impose his will on whomever he sees comfortably settled in an arm-chair, reading.” - Max Beerbohm

Hmmm. The rate of weeding is directly related to -
How many people you haven’t told about your tastes in books,
Impulses to purchase books that do not suit,
Your ability to remember the content,
Your shelf space,
Your ability to remember if you already have the book.
I hate few things, but weeding is one of them. In its place I would say, make lists, buy well and build more shelves. It hurts less in the long run.
